Barry’s Bay – This year the 5th annual Holiday Planter Sale was held at Church Street Flowers in the heart of Barry’s Bay. Local business woman Pam McNichol owner of Church Street Flowers helped out Jenna Stamplicoski this year and took up the reins of designing and making well over one hundred planters for the annual fundraiser outside in the cold behind her store.
The annual fundraiser was spearheaded by Jenna back in 2020 as a way for her to give back to the Hospice. Jenna had broken her leg and borrowed a walker from the hospice to get around.
She came up with the planter idea and had many friends help her to the get the event rolling.
The MV Hospice has helped many of our family members in their last days and is truly a real comfort to many families in the area. The dedicated staff and volunteers are second to none.
The fundraiser is a third party effort to raise funds and the Hospice is not actually involved in the operation of the event.
Many local businesses and people in the area donated different items like the sand, ribbon, greenery and ornaments to help make the planters and this year, like the ones before, the donators came to the rescue with their very kind donations which makes the planter sale all that more special.
The annual event has raised well over thirteen thousand dollars for Hospice and is still climbing.
