Killaloe — The 20th annual St. Francis Charity Golf Tournament teed off at the beautiful Homestead at Wolf Ridge course in Killaloe last Friday. Despite a few clouds the sun was bright and warm for most of the day. The tournament got underway at approximately 11 a.m. and a total of 39 teams drove off in a shotgun start. Proceeds from the tournament each year go to supporting the needs of local health care, including the purchase of telemetry capabilities for St. Francis Memorial Hospital. This year there were a total of 72 amazing sponsors. Over the 20 years the tournament has raised well over $525,000. After the great day of golf and fun, the team members were under the big tent and enjoyed a lovely dinner of roast beef, chicken breasts, salad, potatoes and all the fixings including some delicious desserts. The organizing committee made up of Doug Reeves, Terry Recoskie, Brian Norlock, John Lapinskie, Pat Pilgrim, Rose Shulist and the foundation team along with many volunteers did a top notch job again this year to pull off such a great event. Erin Gienow thanked everyone for coming out and making the tournament a success again this year.
