After 21 years of dedicated service, Joanne King, Executive Director of Barry’s Bay and Area Home Support Services (BBAHS) is retiring at the end of year, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, innovation, and excellence in the field of health care.
Over more than two decades, Joanne has been a part of leading transformative changes, ensuring that BBAHS remained a cornerstone of support for patients, families, and caregivers in the community. Under her leadership, the organization expanded its reach, improved care quality, and adapted to the ever-evolving challenges of health care. Since her tenure, BBAHS has grown to include five programs and employs 25 staff as well as countless dedicated volunteers.
A visionary leader, Joanne has also made her mark on the overall healthcare landscape for the area and the county. She was an active member of many community boards and organizations, including the Madawaska Communities Circle of Care that brought health care organizations strategically together to ensure collaboration and integrated approaches to solve rural health care challenges and community issues together.
