BARRY’S BAY – The Townshipf of Madawaska Valley began work to slightly widen parts of the intersection of highways 60 and 62 in Barry’s Bay and ease the turning radius for transport trucks. The intersection will be fully closed the week of Sept. 8-12.
Township operations manager Hilary Kutchkoskie wrote to the Gazette with the schedule of work.
Aug. 25-28: work on boulevard and sidewalk on the north side of Highway 60 between Bank of Montreal and Up North Beauty and Wellness
Aug. 28 & 29: closure of the entrance to MacEwan gas bar off Highway 62. All traffic lanes will remain open (the entrance to MacEwan was already blocked off by the afternoon of Aug. 26)
Sept. 2-5: replaement of the sidewalk, curb, gutter and boulevard on the southeast corner of the intersection. All traffic lanes will remain open.
Sept 8-12: replacement of crosswalks and asphalt in the intersection. The intersection will be fully closed during this time. Detour signs will be posted.
