A feast fit for mothers

WHITNEY – The South Algonquin Fire Department held it’s annual Mother’s Day pancake breakfast Sunday at St. Martin of Tours in Whitney. Families came out to enjoy a hearty feast of bacon, hashbrowns, pancakes, beans and coffee.

Clover Palbiski attended the breakfast with her daughter Erma Dubreuil and other family members. “I’ve got two more coming,” Palbiski said. And the reporter was taking up one of their chairs.

“It’s just wonderful to come and have breakfast with the family,” said Palbiski. “I got a nice family.”
“It’s fantastic,” Dubreuil said about having breakfast with her mother. “It’s always fun to be with Mom. Especially on Mother’s Day.”

Both agreed the members of the fire department did an outstanding job of cooking up the meal. “Everything’s delicious,” said a very happy Dubreuil.
