Staff appointments at Madawaska Valley

BARRY’S BAY – After months of searching, the new recreation and community development coordinator was introduced to council at the September 4 Township of Madawaska Valley meeting. Stephanie Plebon, a travel and tourism graduate from Algonquin College in Ottawa, said she is excited to now be working within her diploma. Plebon has spent the last 12 years working at St. Francis Memorial Hospital as well as volunteering for a number of local organizations. As well as starting Girl Guides in Barry’s Bay three years ago, Plebon volunteers with minor hockey and is a past volunteer at Barry’s Bay figure skating. She is also a member of Royal Canadian Ladies Auxiliaries. What attracted Plebon to tourism was two summers as a student spent working at the Railway Station in Barry’s Bay.
