BARRY’S BAY – Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing and Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade joined MPP John Yakabuski at the new facilities of St. Francis Herb Farm on Lane Street in Barry’s Bay on Monday. The purpose of their visit was to recognize the $1 Million dollar investment that the province of Ontario is making to
the company.

A press release issued by the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade stated “This project is making a significant impact in communities and economies across the Ottawa Valley and Eastern Ontario. It is enabling long-term measurable outcomes, including private-sector investment, job creation and retention, and strong regional growth.”

The provincial funding will go toward the multi-million-dollar investment that St. Francis Herb Farm Inc is making to their new facility. After many years in operation the company has outgrown the location, they have been operating out of in Combermere. Demand for their natural healthcare remedies has increased so significantly in recent years that the new facility is required to keep pace with the increased production levels.

The provincial contribution to the project comes through the Regional Development Program, and is helping to create 12 new jobs. These jobs will be added to 50 jobs already in existence at St. Francis
Herb Farm.
