PEMBROKE – On August 4, Justice Ratushny presided in a continuation of the pre-trial of the person accused of murdering Anastasia Kuzyk, Nathalie Warmerdam and Carol Culleton on September 22, 2015. Unlike the first pretrial hearing in June, this hearing was public.
Since the accused Basil Bortuski refuses to answer questions put to him in court by the duty counsel and the judge, he is presumed to wish for a trial, to be representing himself, is contesting all the evidence and all 125 crown witnesses will need to appear.
