Last Oktoberfest in Killaloe?

KILLALOE  – The fate of Killaloe’s September 30 Oktoberfest was discussed by the Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards (KHR) council at the October 3 meeting.

When KHR Acting Community Development Officer, Bonnie Ivimey, was asked for her report by Mayor Janice Visneskie-Moore, Ivimey said,

“I thought myself personally our Oktoberfest went really well.”

The music provided by Ken Ramsden and Odd Man Out, were awesome, said Ivimey. She also praised the food provided by St Andrew’s Knights of Columbus.

She noted five KHR councillors attended the event; John Jeffrey, Carl Kuehl, Ted Browne, Debbie Peplinskie and Brian Pecoskie.

Ivimey said though, that it was hard for her to judge how well the day went, and invited Browne to share his impressions.

“I would say,” said Browne, ‘this is our last one….we’re not getting enough people.”

Several councillors also praised the music and the food, provided by the Knights of Columbus.

This is the third Oktoberfest the municipality has held, the first two were held at the rink in Killaloe.

Ivimey said that several people had told her that the event was not advertised enough, and that people told her that they had not heard about it.
