COMBERMERE – The Hastings Highlands Fire Services and the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a structure fire at 1026 Kamaniskeg Lake Road that left one male dead.
The fire happened shortly after 4 a.m. on April 8. When the Hastings Highlands Fire Services arrived on the scene, they found the structure fully engulfed in flames.
There were four Hastings Highlands fire stations that responded to the location and fought the blaze. It took them around a half an hour to get the fire knocked down and under control.
After they had the fire under control, Hasting Highlands Fire Services and OPP were unable to find the occupant of the home.
