GEORGE ERIE DAVIS passed away peacefully at
Hastings Centennial Manor in Bancroft on June
5, 2019 at the age of 89. Erie Davis, beloved
husband of 61 years to the late Viola Rosemary
(Lafee) Davis (2013), loving brother of Arlene
Koss, Janice, Bruce & Ethel Davis, Murray & Alice
Davis, Wm. Dean & Larraine Davis, Bernard &
Margaret Davis, Daniel & Darla Davis and the late
Gifford, Garry, Bert and Tracy. Erie will be fondly
remembered by his many nieces and nephews
and their families and by his many friends.
Born in Combermere on May 22, 1930 to William Stanley
Davis & Myrtle Louise Adrain, Erie and Vi resided in Oshawa for many
years during his tenure as a truck driver of 35 years with General
Motors. They retired to Papineau Lake in 1988 and hehas been a
resident of Hastings Centennial Manor since November of 2017. Erie
was a devout member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Maynooth
and of the Bancroft Chapter of the Masonic Lodge, having held
many positions within the lodge during his many years of association.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baragar Funeral
Home. Visitation was held from the Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle
on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with Rev.
Darlene Cunliffe officiating. Interment followed in Emmanuel
Cemetery in Maynooth.
Donations to either Holy Trinity Anglican Church or to Hastings
Centennial Manor would be welcomed by the Davis Family.
