Combermere community unites for Festival of Small Halls

BARRY’S BAY – The Combermere Community Centre hosted a festival to remember on September 28. That day, the community hosted the Festival of Small Halls, which brings top talent to small and rural halls. The Combermere Recreation Committee built an entire day around the event, starting with a tour of the Mission House Museum, followed by a historic community walk with a guide. In the evening, many came out to enjoy a ham and bean supper, served by members of the committee. The main event saw Eddie Francis opening the show, followed by Gordie MacKeeman and His Rhythm Boys, a band from Prince Edward Island. They are comprised of Gordie MacKeeman (fiddle, acoustic guitar, feet percussion, vocals), Peter Cann (guitars, banjo, vocals), Thomas Webb (guitars, bass, banjo, steel guitar, vocals), and Jason Burbine (bass, percussion, guitar, vocals).
