BARRY’S BAY – Racers gathered on a chilly Sunday morning to compete in the annual triathlon and duathlon in Barry’s Bay on June 30.

Organized by Elser Lee Faith Archer and a team of volunteers, the event started at 9 a.m. with the singing of the National Anthem at the Kamaniskeg lakeshore. Around 35 swimmers then lined the beach and at the sound of the horn, they dove in to complete the 750 metre swim. First out of the water was Ben Snider-McGrath, who took an even 13 minutes to reach shore. He was also first on his bike, to start the 32 kilometre bike followed by an eight kilometre run.
