And the fish hut goes to…

Barry’s Bay – The Madawaska Valley Lions Club announced the winner of the ice fishing hut on December 21.

The hut was built out of black cherry by Roger Jones, in memory of his wife, and was then donated to St. Francis Memorial Hospital.

Jones donated the hut in hopes of the hospital selling it, and then using the money for their campaign, but with little luck they had very few offers.

The Lions Club then stepped up and purchased the hut from the hospital, and sold 50/50 tickets to the public.
The prize was the hut itself, as well as half of the earnings from the tickets.
Roger Wilson was the winner of the fish hut, and was once a member of the Lions Club himself.
