Madawaska Valley Food Bank gets keys for new building

BARRY’S BAY – On November 1, the Madawaska Valley Food Bank will be moving to a new location thanks to the Madawaska Valley Association for Community Living (MVACL).

The new location will be at 19460 Opeongo Line, which is the former location of Sweet Memories Candy Shoppe.

“We are very thankful to MVACL, and particularly Darcy Lacombe, for providing us with this opportunity to lease this space and to partner with them,” said Tish Whitfield, Madawaska Valley Food Bank director.

The new location of the food bank will offer them a bigger space and more comfort for their clients and volunteers. It will also provide a cost savings, which Whitfield says can be passed on to their clients in the form of food and services. Whitfield added that access to the kitchen in this facility might offer additional services in the future, such as cooking classes.
