Mayor welcomes new CAO and condemns demonstration from Friday

BARRY’S BAY – In a longer than usual mayoral address, Mayor for the Township of Madawaska Valley, Kim Love discussed a number of different items that have taken place in the past few weeks.

The first was to welcome new Chief Administrative Office (CAO) and Clerk Douglas Robertson to town. 

“On behalf of council I’d like to welcome Mr. Douglas Robertson to the Madawaska Valley and to introduce Mr. Robertson as the new CAO Clerk for the Township of Madawaska Valley. After a comprehensive and lengthy search, council voted unanimously in favour of hiring Mr. Robertson. We are all very pleased to have him join the dedicated team of staff here at the township,” said Love during the August 21, regular council meeting.

She added that council is, “Confident that Doug is an excellent fit for the community and that he has the strong people skills and organizational in sites needed to lead our team in achieving our townships vision. Council is very pleased to have Doug on board and we look forward to working with him to serve our community.”
