Dashing through the snow

BARRY’S BAY – A dusting of snow just in time for the Barry’s Bay Santa Claus Parade could have coaxed the holiday spirit into even the biggest holiday Grinch.
On November 23, around 26 floats gathered on Kelley Street for the 48th annual parade, organized by the Madawaska Valley Lions Club.
Led by the Ontario Provincial Police and the Madawaska Valley Fire Department, entrants marched through downtown Barry’s Bay and handed out treats to the kids along the way. Members from the Madawaska Valley Food Bank were collecting donations along the route as well.
For the first time ever, the Ottawa Valley Shrine Club participated and received a $600 donation from the Lions to do so.
