Year-end council meeting for KHR

KILLALOE  – At the last 2017 meeting of the Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards (KHR) council on December 19, Mayor Janice Visneskie-Moore began with an opening statement.

She thanked all the councillors present, Brian Pecoskie, John Jeffrey, Ted Brown, Debbie Peplinskie, Carl Kuehl and Stanley Pecoskie. Visneskie-Moore said the seven of them worked well together. We don’t always agree, she said, which is healthy as everyone brings their ideas.

“We have to listen to everybody and at the end the majority wins and we live with that decision,” Visneskie-Moore said.

She talked about the challenges of 2017 of which the flooding in the spring was most notable for council and tax payers. Visneskie-Moore th

anked the staff at the meeting and asked Works Superintendent Dean Holly to thank the works department staff and for Fire Chief Bob Gareau to thank all the fire fighters for the way they handled the flood.
