With the strange weather, syrup continues to flow

QUADEVILLE – April is usually the end of the syrup collecting season, and just like this winter, this season has been unpredictable.

“It’s definitely a strange year,” explained Robert Hupe, syrup producer at the Maple Country Sugar Bush in Quadeville. “It’s up and down and up and down a lot. It hasn’t been a bad year but I don’t think it’ll be our best.”

The strange weather affecting syrup production is something that has been felt across all of Eastern Ontario.
