Winter wonderland weather brightens Christmas festivities

WILNO – Winter festivities in Wilno began at 1:00 p.m. on December 22 with a visit from Santa himself, who dropped by Pickles & Quilts to welcome children and listen to their Christmas wishes.

After a night of nonstop snow, Wilno was a veritable wonderland, and the snowy trees and frosty landscape made for the perfect Christmas backdrop.
Despite the blast of extremely wintery weather, Santa was in good spirits and declared, “The snow doesn’t hinder my travel plans, I have reindeer!”
Store owners, Helen and Robert Mandy, provided hot chocolate and cookies for visitors. They have been hosting Santa’s visits for the past three years thanks to funding through the Wilno Business Association.
At 3:00 p.m. it was time for the Wilno parade to make its way through the snow, from the rink to Pickles & Quilts.
