Wind driven ice damage to cottage on Round Lake

ROUND LAKE – Once again, nature has struck the properties on Round Lake. Last spring it was excessive water levels causing flooding. This past weekend, the ice sheet cover on the lake was driven ashore by strong winds into properties in the extreme eastern shore of Round Lake in the vicinity of Sand Bay. Most of the property damage was limited to outbuildings but one cottage sustained significant damage on the lake side. The cottage owner, Don Pouliot, said he had been notified of some damage on May 5. When he inspected the cottage, Pouliot said there was some damage.
