Wilfred passed away unexpectedly at home on September 5th 2018 in his 65th year. Beloved Father of Darryl Stoppa (Jeannette), April Stoppa (Guy LeClair), Amy Stoppa (Kal Kicksee). Loving Grandfather of Sierra, Michel, Mickyla, Jasmine, and Trista. Survived by his siblings Isadore Stoppa (Audrey), Ambrose Stoppa, and Karen Shalla (Danny). Cherished Uncle to many Nieces and Nephews. Predeceased by his Father Ambrose Stoppa and Mother Barbara Stoppa (Peplinskie) And Brother Andy Stoppa.
Wilfred known to many as Willy worked for Murray Bros. Ltd for over 30 years just having retired in the middle of July after his 65th birthday. He also worked maintaining multiple cottages in the area and spent several years volunteering for the ATV/ snowmobile clubs, and in his younger days for Scouts Canada. He logged numerous hours helping anyone he knew that was in need of a hand. Willy spent his time at the local watering holes getting to know lots of amazing people that he considered his second family. He was well known for his pranks and sound of his horn or his burl marks in ones driveway (wanted or not). Willy was a fond lover of both “Breast and Beer”. He was overjoyed to be a grandfather and spent his time spoiling his “Angel’s”.
We would like to send a big Thank You to Matt Zelney for doing everything he could and being there for dad. Also the paramedics, doctors and nurses that helped in everyway they could. We would like to thank everyone from the bottom of your hearts for all the help, food, meals, and for just being there for us in our time of need. We are so lucky to have a amazing Family and Community like the one we have to get us through the worst of times.
We were so lucky to have an amazing Father and Grandfather we all loved so much. We will miss you.
