MAYNOOTH – The Municipality of Hastings Highlands honoured some of its volunteers with an inaugural volunteer recognition ceremony on June 22.
Volunteers were nominated from all corners of the municipality and were recognized by Mayor Vivian Bloom. Each received a certificate of appreciation from the municipality.
Although not all nominated volunteers could be in attendance, the mayor still spoke about each volunteer and thanked each nominee for their hard work in the community.
The first to receive recognition were those involved in the business retention and expansion project.
“This project was the foundation for laying the ground work for the community move forward in economic development,” Bloom said.
