BARRY’S BAY – Sharon Chippior, the restorative care coordinator at the Valley Manor, attended the gala dinner of the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario on September 28 in Ottawa to receive an award for excellence.
She was given the Martha Award for excellence in the care of older Ontarians.
Chippior said she was surprised and honoured to receive the award and excited to bring it back to the Valley Manor and Barry’s Bay.
“Pretty honoured for sure. Nice to bring it back to our little community. I am really excited about that, bringing it back to where I work because to me it’s not just me. We work as a team. It’s a great place to work because we do work as a team. I see excellence in nursing every day,” Chippior said.
