BARRY’S BAY – Members of the Madawaska Valley twinning committee met on the afternoon of September 26 to accept some gifts and to expand on its twinning opportunities.
The group consists of Chair David Shulist, who represents the municipality as a councillor, Vice Chair Carl Bromwich, another MV councillor, and members Cynthia Wolfgram, Richard Shulist, Iwona Ostropolski and Ed Chippior (absent from the meeting.)
The group began the meeting by reviewing the terms of reference, and agreed to replace the word “Poland” with “Kashubia” to be consistent with the Lëpùsz Declaration. The address where correspondence was sent to with the overseas country was also changed to Kashubia.
