The arts of traditional living celebrated at Madonna House

COMBERMERE – Madonna House’s heritage weekend was graced with gentle sunshine over the weekend.

The heritage weekend draws hundreds of visitors to Combermere for the annual celebration of the arts of traditional living.

It is an event which marks the end of summer in the Valley.

There were plenty of activities to entertain children and adults alike as members of the community demonstrated and shared their extensive skills.

One of the highlights is the puppet show. This year the performance by Carol Ann Gieske and Trina Stitak illustrated the life of Catherine Doherty, founder of the Madonna House Apostolate.
