PALMER RAPIDS – There was something for everyone at the 2017 Brudenell-Lyndoch-Raglan (BLR) Township winter carnival.
The annual festival kicked off on February 2, as six local youngsters went head-to-head in BLR’s winter carnival king and queen talent show night. Children and youth were vying for the tile of junior snow queen, snow king and L’il Mister.
Participants included Gerald Keller, Omar Amrani, Isobel Phanenhour, Karley Gogolin, Curtis Seafield and Eli Coish. Each submitted an essay to the judges, answered a question on stage, and performed a talent for the audience.
The next evening, on February 3, was reserved for the crowning ceremony. At the end of the night, Karley Gogolin was named junior snow queen, Curtis Seafield was crowed snow king and Omar Amrani was named L’il Mister.
Following the ceremony, the community could take part in free public skating at the arena or a free dance for students in Grades 6 to 8.
