Sherwood test-drives digital pilot program

BARRY’S BAY – A new pilot project is teaching students about playing safe with technology.

This month, Sherwood Public School students were the first in the Renfrew County District School Board to take part in the Ignition – Digital Literacy and Responsibility program.

It is an online-based platform, which educates students on the risks and rewards that technology can bring to their lives.

The program addresses issues like cyberbullying, good texting practices, digital time management, and even careers in technology.

Jonathan Pratt is an ICT coach with the school board.

“It’s all about digital citizenship and awareness,” Pratt explained.
