BARRY’S BAY – They may not be members of the Royal Canadian Legion, but their efforts help ensure the future is bright for the local Barry’s Bay branch.
On November 1, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 406 held an inaugural volunteer appreciation potluck dinner and dance. Members and non-members who have volunteered their time to assist the legion with various events in the past two years were invited to attend.
Barry’s Bay Legion President Heather Poloquin said these volunteers have helped with Canada Day celebrations, the annual public speak event, Sunday breakfasts, building and grounds maintenance and Bingo.
