BARRY’S BAY – The Chippewa shores private subdivision was the topic of discussion at the Township of Madawaska Valley council in committee meeting of March 5.
Appearing for the owners, Combermere Lodge Limited, Neil Enright described the revisions made to the company’s original planning proposal for the 190 acre property.
In his address to council, Enright said the company had learned a lot about the property on the shores of Kamaniskeg Lake from the series of studies required in the subdivision planning application and from public feedback, largely from a public meeting held in Combermere last year about the project.
When the company first looked at the property they had various plans drawn up, including one with 80 lots in the private development. However, the company wished to preserve some of the buildings already on the property which are part of the community’s heritage.
