Raglan Four Seasons Park hosts poker run

HARDWOOD LAKE Sun and snow were both in great abundance for the annual Raglan Four Seasons Park poker run on February 16.

A steady stream of riders gathered to register at the starting point, Four Seasons Park, located at Four Seasons Park Road in Hardwood Lake. It was $10 a person to enter, with a chance to play a poker hand and win a prize.

Angela Musclow joined her brother Steve and niece Lauren to take part in the run, in honour of her father Ken Musclow, who passed away recently.

“He never missed a poker run,” Angela said of her dad who lived in Palmer Rapids.

Volunteers at the Midway point operating the barbeque and canteen on Turtle Lake included Terry Keller, Abbie and Connie Weichenthal, Amie Genrick, Sam and Linda Hass.

Connie said she wanted to extend her appreciation for Sam Hass, 78, who has contributed to the event for many years. She said Sam has always been the one who starts the fire and keeps it going throughout the day in an effort to provide warmth to riders when they stop for a break.

“He is a very special man. Many enjoy his stories and presence by the fire,” Connie said.
