Proposed water and sewer rates being reviewed by council

BARRY’S BAY – Water and sewer users in Barry’s Bay will be paying more if council adopts some new proposed rates.

At the April 5 water and wastewater committee meeting, Charles Croll from Eastern Infrastructure Services visited with committee to discuss the plan. Croll has been working on Barry’s Bay’s water and wastewater debt charges and consumption alternatives for a new rate structure.

He proposed a solution, where a base rate is established, which includes a new debt retirement fee, followed by a per cubic metre usage.
