Whitney LCBO surpasses goal, district manager gets soaked, Game On wins

WHITNEY – The Whitney LCBO managed to surpass every other LCBO in Ontario in terms of donations to transaction percentages during the annual fundraiser for the United Way Eastern Ontario.

For two weeks in August, the three staff asked customers for a donation to the United Way. Their goal during the first phase was $1,200. They managed to far surpass that goal by raising $4,600.

“Not only were they number one for the district in terms of transaction percentage, they were number one for the company. That’s 660-plus stores across Ontario,” District Manager Richard Watterson said.

Watterson put out a challenge for the Peterborough district, promising that he would get soaked at the branches that raise the most money and have the most donations to transaction percentages. Haliburton raised the most money, and Whitney had the most donations to transaction percentages.

“I am happy to do it,” Watterson said. “These guys not only earned it. They far surpassed it.”
