Pembroke Tornadoes win the Barry’s Bay Novice hockey tournament

BARRY’S BAY – On January 6, the Barry’s Bay Minor Hockey Association hosted a tournament for Novice hockey teams in the area. Despite the cool temperatures outside, parents and players came out in full force to take part in this great day of hockey. The tournament featured teams from Nepean, Petawawa, Pembroke, Renfrew, Arnprior and Barry’s Bay.

Game 1: Barry’s Bay Bears vs. Petawawa Warriors

The first game of the day took place at 8 a.m. between the host team, the Barry’s Bay Bears and the Petawawa Warriors.

Barry’s Bay goaltender Duncan Bernaski played well throughout this hockey game.

The Warriors were held scoreless until the midway point of the first period. Isabelle Simoneau scored the first goal of the tournament for Petawawa. Just seconds after that they would get on the scoreboard again, Dante Palagano made it 2-0 for the Warriors.
