KILLALOE – The new owner of Freshmart and Ajay’s in Killaloe is humbled by the reception he, Dave Virk, receives from the community.
“They have welcomed me with a very warm heart. People were coming to see me and welcome me here. I have a lot of respect for them and their warm heart, especially when people just come in to say welcome. It makes you feel good.”
Virk grew up in the big cities of southern Ontario; Toronto, Brampton and Mississauga. He welcomes the change that has taken place over the summer.
“Now we don’t feel like we are outsiders from Toronto. We feel like home. They love you, they come, they talk. Everybody comes if you need any help. They are here for you, which is making me feel very warm,” Virk said.
His two children, sons Jot and Taran, like being here too.
