New leadership at St. Francis Memorial and Renfrew Victoria Hospital, Julia Boudreau

BARRY’S BAY – On June 1, Julia Boudreau officially became the President of St. Francis Memorial Hospital in Barry’s Bay; she is also the CEO of Renfrew Victoria Hospital. According to its website, St. Francis Memorial Hospital serves a population of approximately 10,000 “…dispersed over a large geographic area that includes 1,800 sq. kilometers in Renfrew County, a portion of South Algonquin Township in the District of Nipissing and Algonquin Park, Hwy 60 main corridor.”

During an email interview with The Valley Gazette, Boudreau was asked what attracted her to the position. She replied, “I have devoted my career so far to hospital administration in a community hospital, and have held roles as a manager, Vice President and Senior Vice President… so this seemed like the next logical step in my career.”

With a background in nursing, Boudreau added “…from very early on, I knew that I wanted to spend my career in hospital administration.”

She said, “When this opportunity came up, it was one where I could continue to contribute to the organizations that I have devoted much of my career to.” She described the position as an “opportunity to work with the many folks who I already know.” She also said, “[W]e have fantastic team [and] it was an easy decision.”
