MV’s strategic plan one step closer to fruition

BARRY’S BAY – Madawaska Valley Council is getting closer to finalizing its five year strategic plan.

The strategic plan will lay a roadmap for the community on where it wants to head, including what kind of investment it wants to attract, possible recreational opportunities and much more.

Paul Blais from MDB Insight visited with council at a special meeting on February 14. He presented council with the priority recommendations report, which summed up the results of a community consultation and survey, and also provided direct action items for four strategic priorities.

“This is the greatest privilege for me, to be asked to talk to members of the community about the hopes and dreams that you have, the concerns, the fears that you have about the community and bring it all together into a package that is thought-provoking, that has some direction and that the community can buy into,” Blais said. “I am hoping you see your voice in this and I am hoping the community will see their voice in what they put together.”
