MV bids farewell to CAO clerk

BARRY’S BAY – It was a bittersweet meeting for Madawaska Valley council on February 21, as they said farewell to CAO/Clerk Craig Kelley.

Kelley has taken up a position with the County of Renfrew as the director of development and property and the latest council meeting was his last as CAO/clerk with the Township of Madawaska Valley.

Mayor Kim Love started the meeting off by recapping Kelley’s time with the township. She said council received Kelley’s resignation letter at a special council meeting on November 30.

Kelley’s final day with the township was on February 22.

“His professionalism, leadership and management style will be sorely missed by council, municipal staff and the entire community,” Love said. “We return Kelley to the County of Renfrew as a well-rounded and diversely skilled professional whom I have every confidence will rise to this new challenge and become and indispensable member of the county’s senior leadership team.”

She then thanked Kelley for the leadership he has shown to the community and for his professional partnership throughout his tenure as CAO/clerk.
