Missing Killaloe woman found in BC

KILLALOE – A Killaloe resident and her friend were found alive and well after missing in British Columbia for one week.

Killaloe’s Lynne Carmody, 61, and her friend from North Bay, Rick Moynan, 59, went for a hike in Cathedral Provincial Park in the South Okanagan last week and did not return to their lodge.

More than 300 people took part in the search operation, which involved 19 teams from across British Columbia. The search area covered more than 200 square kilometres.

Lynne lived in North Bay before relocating to Barry’s Bay and then Killaloe-Hagarty-Richards Township. She was married to Wayne Carmody, an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police who retired from the Killaloe detachment in 2003. He passed away at the age of 60 in 2013, while spending the winter at his home on the island of Dominica.

According to James Carmody, brother of Wayne and current Petawawa councillor, Lynne continued to live in her home in Killaloe, around a kilometre away from the OPP detachment.
