Minimum wage rise causes concern

BARRY’S BAY – New minimum wage legislation brought forward by the provincial government brings mixed reaction from local employers.

The province wants to increase the minimum wage from the current $11.40 per hour, to $14 in January 2018, and $15 in January 2019, along with a list of other measures.

One advocate for the increases is Bil Smith of the Community Resource Centre in Killaloe.
