Library forum gauges ideas for strategic plan

BARRY’S BAY – The community had the chance on July 17 to chart the course for the Madawaska Valley Public Library for the next five years.

That evening, at the Opeongo Seniors Centre, the library held its community forum. Chair of the Madawaska Valley Public Library, Frances Mawson, led the event.

“We have had a strategy plan which was five years and it’s just completed,” she said. “So we want to put together the next five year structure plan. This will take us from 2019 to 2024. What we want is the public’s wishes about what they would like to see.”

The board pitched three questions to the community, ranging from big-picture ideas to smaller, more realistic goals.
