Leah Mary (Sullivan) Bleskie

Leah Mary (Sullivan) Bleskie was called to her
heavenly home on February 12, 2019 at the
age of 63 in the Madawaska Valley Hospice.
Leah was born on July 16, 1955 in Killaloe,
Ontario to Patrick “PJ” and Margaret (Holly)
Sullivan. She was happily married to Basil
Bleskie for 35 years, and was the dearly
beloved mother of Cara (and her partner,
Eli), Cody (and his partner, Jamie), and
Dalton. She is survived by her siblings Joan, Ted,
Mary, Anna, Pauline, Margaret, and Danny; and
predeceased by siblings Howard, Rachel, Helen, Pat, and Harold.
Leah will be remembered as a lighthearted and caring woman,
attributes that made her a wonderful health care aide and
homemaker. She was a wonderfully talented baker, an avid card
player, and loved spending time on the water and going on fishing
adventures.
Of the numerous roles she took on in life, Leah took greatest
pride in and will be most fondly remembered as a wife, mother,
daughter, sister, and friend. Her love for her family and her loyalty
to her friends illuminated the path she walked in life. It is this same
devotion and her firm belief in God that carried Leah through her
struggle, and ultimately allowed her to rest in peace.
Her family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of
St Francis Memorial Hospital, Bayshore Home Health, and the
Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre; and the many volunteers and staff
members of the Madawaska Valley Hospice.
A mass will be held at St. Hedwig Church on Thursday,
February 21, 2019 at 10:30 AM. A celebration of life will follow later in
the spring.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that a donation be made to
the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation.
