Twenty three days short of his 50th wedding anniversary, John passed away on March 7, 2020 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in Barry’s Bay. Husband of Marie (Etmanskie). Father of Anne Marie and Edward. Son of the late Horace and Nora (Murray) Landon. Brother of Janet O’Connor of North Bay. Predeceased by siblings Doris McCrea, Irma Lowell, Malcolm Landon, Murray Landon, and Joan Quinn. Grandfather to Julia, Emma, Ava and Alec Beggs of Combermere and Nathan and Grant Landon of Edmonton. Will be missed by Michael Beggs his long time friend and hunting partner and Suzanne (Rigler) Landon who shared many Alberta adventures with him.
A wake was held at the Heubner Funeral Home, Barry’s Bay on Monday,
March 9 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at
St. Lawrence O’Toole Roman Catholic Church, Barry’s Bay at 9:30 am on
Tuesday, March 10. In lieu of flowers donations to the St. Lawrence O’Toole
Parish Building Fund or the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation would be appreciated.
