BARRY’S BAY – A regular Township of Madawaska Valley council meeting was held on December 21, 2015.
Mayor Kim Love announced that a new physician recruiter has been appointed by the Joint Municipality Physician Recruitment Committee.
The current physician recruiter, Erin Gienow, resigned from the position in late October.
Following advertisements, 16 applications were received. The committee rated the candidates and five were invited to interview.
The interview process included making a presentation to the committee on the topic of the future of physician recruitment, which was followed by questions from the committee. The committee formed a consensus over which candidate to choose.
Love announced that Melissa Botz has accepted the offer and will start work in January 2016.
