Highway to Heaven: Kevin Gulick rides off in style

Palmer Rapids- Sometimes we have strange ideas about what it means to live a good life, and even stranger ideas of what it means to have a good death. Kevin Gulick had both. Born in 1958, he worked hard for everything he earned in life and his crowning accomplishment was being the head of a strong family. Although he suffered greatly during the past two years of his life, he managed to face death with the same determination, stamina and good character that helped him to build K. Gulick & Son Haulage of Palmer Rapids.

When it was time to leave for his final resting place, Kevin’s son David made sure his dad’s last journey was one to remember. The classy gesture was a tribute that punctuated a life well lived.

In June of 1978, Gulick married Patricia (Patsy) Northey, a self-described “farmer’s daughter”. As the Merle Haggard, song goes, “he says he really loves the farmer’s daughter, and I know the farmer’s daughter loves the man…”
