Fundraising spaghetti dinner planned for MV teams

BARRY’S BAY – The Madawaska Valley District High School girl’s junior basketball team faced off against the girls from Centre Scolaire Catholique Jeanne-Lajoie on October 20.

The wolves played a tough defence against the Cheveliers, taking a few tumbles on the court. However, their persistence paid off, with the junior wolves winning the game 28-13. Robyn Dombroski and Emma Klawitter led the team in scoring eight points each.

According to Coach Jesse Silver, the girls are in the running to win the upcoming Upper Ottawa Valley High School Athletic Association’s basketball tournament.

Prior to that event, the girls will be holding a spaghetti dinner on November 24, where proceeds will go to the basketball fund in order to help both boys and girls at the school develop their skills and offset tournament costs.
