Council meets briefly on July 25

BARRY’S BAY – On the morning of July 25, the Township of Madawaska Valley met for a special council meeting.

It was short and sweet, as they officially declared, in light of the recent water and wastewater budget changes that the August 6 council meeting, scheduled to take place at the Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre (PJYCC) will now take place in the council chambers.

In other news, some discussion took place in regards to the Lakewood Subdivision Agreement, out on Bark Lake.

On May 6, Principal of the Lakewoods Resort Development Inc. (LRDI) Gary Medwid attended the township’s routine council meeting and presented council with concerns about the future of the development project. He made it clear; he had concerns and frustrations, in early May, in regards to his stalled subdivision agreement.

Council discussed a few dates to possibly tackle some of the current issues with the Lakewoods Development Project. However, discussion(s) will take place in a closed meeting.
