Council-in-Committee briefs – May 7

Christine Hudder

BARRY’S BAY – Madawaska Valley council-in-committee met on May 7 to discuss a number of items.

Three delegations kicked off the meeting, including the findings from Integrity Commissioner Guy Giorno. Both reports presented found that there had been no contraventions to the Code of Conduct.

Next, Pat Maguire and his team from BearCom presented a proposal on the fire department’s replacement radio systems. No firm decision was made by council-in-committee.

Finally, Fatima Adams, owner of Eve’s Escape Spa in Barry’s Bay, approached council with a request to fix the parking issues outside her business on Opeongo Line in Barry’s Bay. Township staff was instructed to look into the situation and prepare some ideas for council.

All this and more will be detailed in the May 15, 2019 Valley Gazette.
