Coates challenges Gallant to a debate in the Conservative Party of Canada nomination contest

BARRY’S BAY – At a meeting in Barry’s Bay, January 22, the newly approved Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) nominee, Mike Coates, challenged Cheryl Gallant MP to a debate.

Coates was clear that he wanted the debate, which is not a required part of the CPC nomination process, to be held in a studio-like setting where two reasonable people can discuss the issues of the riding.

As of January 11, Mike Coates and Cheryl Gallant became official candidates for nomination by the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) in this riding.

This is a rare chance for CPC members to decide who will represent them in the next general election, likely at the end of 2018.

Cheryl Gallant has been MP since she won the riding in 2000, as a member of the now defunct Canadian Alliance Party.
