Christmas spirit in the air in KHR Township

KILLALOE – A small crowd braved the cold weather on November 29 for the annual tree lighting ceremony outside the Killaloe, Hagarty, and Richards Township hall.

There, Christmas carols were sung, hot chocolate and hot dogs were served, and even Santa himself paid a visit. It was all for the annual Tree of Peace ceremony, with proceeds going toward the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation.

Cathy Pitts, on behalf of the foundation board, said the money will be directed to a $70,000 piece of vital x-ray equipment at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital.
